Wei Qingji was born in Tsingtao, Shandong province of China. He graduated from Oriental Art Department, Nankai University with Bachelor of Arts in 1995. He got his postgraduate qualification from Mural Department of the Beijing Central Academy of Fine Arts and Master of Arts from Wuhan University of Technology, College of Art and Design in year 2003 and 2008 respectively. He is now Associate Professor in College of Fine Arts, South China Normal University, Guangzhou
