Born 1990 in the city of Shenyang in Liaoning Province, WU Xinmo graduated from the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 2012 and now lives and works in Shanghai. One of WU's strengths is her use of a variety of media in her practice, as well as materials and new media and technology to analyze many different types of hype. She is particularly interested in using the context of aesthetics as a means to intervene in social issues. Since 2015, she began to explore the hidden and murky symbols in nature, becoming infatuated by this contradictory state of aesthetic exploration and attempting to apply this concept to intervene in a broader social realm.
