Matsushita Tohru
Matsushita's painting is created through the process of applying chemical paints to the canvases, causing cracks to appear on the surface. The unique process was developed from his interest in traditional Japanese arts, such as the golden folding screens that changes its expression in reflection to the lightings, and the way traditional potters make different appearance of I do bowls according to the liquid solutions they apply to the material. By using modern technique of graffiti on the street, Matsushita challenges to create artwork beyond his intention and readable concept, but the phenomenon that occurs as a result of his actions.
