As November marches on, Hong Kong will once again take the spotlight of global art professionals. In addition to Christie’s Hong Kong Autumn Auctions, we can also expect a feast of wonderful exhibitions held by various galleries, among which, Lucie Chang Fine Arts, the newest member of Hong Kong art scene, is a must-go. Located in the prime area of Sheung Wan, Hong Kong Island, the two-storey gallery is spacious, quiet, and convenient. Its owner, Ms Lucie Chang, has rich experience in antique collection. For many years, she has served as the collection consultant for prestigious art institutions in Hong Kong, which allows her to have a deep insight into art and antiques. Contemplating on how to revive the classic spirit in the contemporary context, in recent years, Lucie decided to focus on ‘Contemporary Ink Painting’ and other contemporary art works carrying classic Chinese cultural implications. With her ingenious observation and unique perspective, she soon becomes the backstage planner for a number of important ‘Contemporary Ink Painting’ artists. In the future, Lucie Chang Fine Arts will continue the promotion of ‘Contemporary Ink Painting’, endeavour to spot new artists and new forms of expression with the aim of enriching Chinese contemporary art.

In the opening event on 25 November, the opening exhibition of Lucie Chang Fine Arts will present 29 artworks by ten prominent contemporary artists, including Hung Hoi, Li Jin, Xu Lei, A Hai, Fang Lijun, Zhang Huan, Zhan Yang, and a young Hong Kong artist Peggy Chan. The show will also display the three-dimensional works well-known sculptors, Qu Guangci and Xiang Jing. Showcasing diversify themes and medium of arts. The exhibition is a perfect combination of local characteristics and international vision. Most of the exhibits are tailor made for the art space. These artworks will be making their debut at this opening event. Together, they will embody the features of Hong Kong in a most delicate and intriguing way. We cordially invite friends in the media and all art-lovers to witness and celebrate the birth of the new venue of Lucie Chang Fine Arts.
